Ā Ā Weāve been quiet over hereā¦.observing from afar the endless headlines, unbelievable, gut-wrenching social media shares and deeds of kindness from complete strangers during this time of devastation in so many states we love. Weāve been wondering how in the world we can help those in dire need, the ones that are barely mentioned yet screaming for help. The ones that seem impossible to reach, deep in the mountains past nonexistent roads. Farmers whoāve lost their livestock and crops. Weāve watched civilian pilots step up since day one and volunteer their time to save complete strangers, searching for landing zones marked with Xs carved into deep mud. Weāve watched people giving the shirt off their backs, donating what they can, coordinating chaos, cooking meals and offering warm showers to those who have been rescued from this nightmare. Weāve seen farm animals and domestic pets being rescued from raging waters. Weāve seen the elderly being saved from the absolute worst conditions, witnessed small businesses and huge corporations showing up big time in so many ways. Weāve cried over life saving medicine being delivered by mules, through the roughest terrain that only these beasts can navigate. Weāve seen drones and huge military planes drop off supplies. Weāve watched churches, coffee shops and surf stores collect donations. Weāve known since day one that we wanted to show up, but how? Should we find our way back to our home of East Tennessee with a chainsaw and a truck full of water? Do we bring first aid supplies or baby formula? Pet food or new clothes? We concluded that the best way WE know how to show up is through our artwork. But what to draw? Nothing seemed worthyā¦.but one quote kept sneaking back in as an obvious front runnerā¦.ālook for the helpersā. Mr. Rogers once told a story about when he was little, he would see scary things on the news and his mother would say āLook for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.ā We felt this message was a timeless one and reminds us that there is still good left in the world. š We reached out to our amazing local friends at @surfsigns.and.designs and they are happily donating their time and money to help us make these fundraiser stickers in house, they immediately said yes, as always. These will be 4ā stickers and weāll be selling them for $5 each (plus s&h). While it was hard to choose, weāve decided that all money raised from the sale of our stickers (not including the s&h costs) will be split and donated evenly to @mountainmulepackers, @carolinacert and @opairdropā¦.we have watched these heroes show up non-stop without hesitation. We are taking sticker orders via our website and the cutoff time to order is 10/9. Turnaround time after that will be within a week. Our followers always show up for us and we see you every single time you do. Thank you for helping us to give to those in need. šš¼
